“TWO PATHS of an OJIBWAY ARTIST”

WAYNE KODJE EXHIBIT    JUNE 17  to 23

BEN NAVAEE GALLERY, 1107 Queen Street East, Toronto

Wayne has his own way with painting and collage that is well worth a visit. I met Wayne at the 2014 Artist Project Art Fair where his unique and original approach stood out to me. Following his professional career in teaching Wayne has now focused on telling his story from an Ojibway point of view. If you are in the neighborhood take some time and have a look.

SPRING WORKSHOP WITH MARKHAM GROUP OF ARTISTS APRIL 28, 2016

LET THE PROCESS BUILD THE IMAGE WORKSHOP

Markham Village Arena Boardroom, Markham

Late into winter last year I was invited to do a workshop with MGA by Julia Hacker an artist I had meet at the Feb 2015 Artist Project Art Fair . Julia then asked me to fill a presentation spot in February this year. Please see my Mar 9th post. At this point my workshop did not have many takers but this presentation introduced me and MGA to each other. By the beginning of April the workshop was nearly full.

This was my second opportunity to lead a workshop in the mixed media process oriented approach I have developed over the past several years. There were 11 artists all experienced professionals. It was a delight as well as challenging  in ways I had not expected. All were focused, easy going, asking questions and sharing their own ideas about techniques and processes. This was the real benefit of the workshop: the discussion and sharing that the demonstrations stimulate in the participants. We all came away with suggestions and thoughts about continuing work. It would be my pleasure to do another workshop with MGA: will keep you posted !
